 While installing Interchange I ran into the following problem during
 the execution of ./configure:

 The script carries on a little further, then freezes at:

 /home/cwenham/interchange-4.5.5/blib/session:

 I let this go for between 5 and 10 minutes before halting it with a
 CTRL-C. I didn't observe this pause on a development machine that I
 installed Interchange on, so I assumed the process entered an endless
 loop.

 There is some background that may be relevant:

 The machine I'm trying to install this on has 5.004_04 as the main
 version (what you get when you run "perl"), and a copy of Perl
 5.005_02 in /usr/local/bin/perlnew. I modified Interchange's
 configure script to look for "perlnew" by default. The line changed
 is:

 TESTPERL=perl

 changed to:

 TESTPERL=perlnew
 
 This seemed to satisfy configure's version requirement and it went
 about building Interchange, where it eventually ran into the problems
 described above.

 Would anyone know what could be causing the problem and how to fix
 it?
