[mv] makecat: unexpected results

****** message to minivend-users from Martin Abell <abellmt@spsp.net> ******

Would appreciate any feedback about why makecat makes a "Welcome" page with
an "Enter" link and "Admin" link that go to directories that were not
created.

BACKGROUND
Installed "Interchange-latest.rpm" (downloaded approx. Sept 1) on RedHat
6.02, Apache server. The barry demo seemed to work but couldn't figure out
admin password so went on to makecat, making a directory for "lumber" in the
"www10" directory. Nothing worked since.

Permissions set per hints in FAQ: server runs as interchange, all files in
/usr/local/interchange have interchange as owner and group, all directories
in /home/www10/catalogs have www10 as owner and group and run as group
(chmod g+s) (every user is in own group, e.g., www10 is in group www10, and
interchange is in that group), link program (lumber) gets created with
interchange as owner and group and runs as owner (chmod u+s).

In makecat, if give cgiurl as cgi-bin/lumber get lumber program in cgi-bin
(nothing else) and get "Sorry.. " message on clicking "Enter". If give
cgi-bin/lumber/lumber as cgiurl, still get lumber program in cgi-bin,
nothing else. Clicking "Enter" gives "Undefined catalog...". Can make the
lumber directory ahead of time, but makecat puts "executable" into it (which
can't be made to work either).

Anyone have any clues?
