[mv] using ipfw in lockout command

****** message to minivend-users from "kyle@invisio.com" <kyle@invisio.com> ******

Hey list,

Minivend version is 3.11 (though this problem really should not be version
related)

Anyone out there ever get the lockout command to work
with FreeBSD ipfw ?

I have tried everything short of sudo to get the lockout command
to work with ipfw.

I have written suid perl scripts, c wrappers etc and always the
lockout command would work via the command line (logged in as
the minivend user)

But every time the minivend daemon would issue the command,
I always get back the following error (in mv error.log):

65.0.84.82 pS8mqJWd:nobody - [04/October/2000:22:40:37 -0700] bigwg <SNIP>
> no 30 second pause.
> Performing lockout command '/home/minivend/mvend/bin/blockit.cgi
65.0.84.82'.Bad status 14592:
>

As best I can tell (and now I'm getting a bit out of my area of knowledge) the
return code 14592 means:

No signal, No core dump, child return code 57 (which I guess means ENOTCONN)

Again, the exact command issued via the command line works perfectly.

I even tried logging the UID,EUID,GID,EGID and the ARGV in the suid script,
and everything is identical when the command is issued by the command line
or the minivend daemon.

Any help/pointers would be appreciated!
