I just made a MV4 catalog run with Interchange 4.5.7 after the following
steps (with the old catalog in /path/catalog/shop):

- untar interchange and ./configure
- cp interchange.cfg.dist interchange.cfg
- vi interchange.cfg, implanting an appropriate Catalog line
- ./bin/compile_link
- ./src/compile.pl
- cp bin/vlink .../cgi-bin/shop
- ./bin/restart

I didn't touch the catalog. But then my catalog isn't anything fancy
yet.
