Here's my entry for a live site (2+ years):

Catalog order /var/lib/httpd/mvend/order /cgi-bin/order

I'm not using alias.

It is the name of the catalog, not sure exactly how it is used, but it
doesn't necessarily have to reflect the name of your directory or cgi
-portion. I have another entry like this:

Catalog testbed /var/lib/httpd/mvend/testbed /testbed/testbed.cgi

The second is the directory containing the catalog's file, pages,
configuration, logs, etc. Mine happens to be in the directory where I've
installed minivend.

If your cgi-bin on your secure server was named something else, such as
secure-bin, Minivend will allow it to run (i.e. MV wouldn't normally let
you run the catalog from a directory that isn't configured. I believe this
to be a rather smart security fix, among other things)

You may get the best results with running bin/makecat -- unless you're more
comfortable changing the configurations by hand.

There's a great amount of mailing list archives, documentation, and FAQ at
