It's a frequent enough problem that I use a 'cookies' email signature to
answer complaints about carts not accumulating!  Perhaps your shoppers are
more sophisticated and would never make this mistake....

Cookies signature line:




Your computer's web browser must have 'cookies' turned on in order for
items to accumulate; the cookie identifies your order separately from that
of other shoppers and is a reference with which to group additional items.
Set this in 'preferences' of the web browser.  When 'cookies' are off, each
additional item is seen by our server as a new order.
