Minor in that it fails to accomodate a bug in other software. The
effect of a minor problem can be major, of course, in certain cases.

You wanted an apology -- I am making one. I am glad you brought this to
my attention. I am sorry I misunderstood your question. I am sorry you
got so upset.

I am also making a complaint which I hope quite a few people will
hear.

  * Post relevant subject lines. In this case "Continue shopping
button doesn't work for AOL". "AOL, what's up with Akopia"
doesn't do it for me, and doesn't help anyone help.

  * Repeat the subject line in the problem statement. Don't bring
up irrelevancies like answers to SSL FAQs in the first
paragraph of your problem statement. Use whitespace to clearly
separate the problem statement from other stuff.

  * Don't talk over knowledgeable people or quote them out of
context. You basically ignored what I said. If I misunderstood
you, think what other people are getting out of your post. 8-)

  * When quoting and following up, give enough context to remember
the problem. Especially if you have a bogus subject line.

I think the answer is to just make the Continue Shopping button in
the demo distribution point to "index". Reliability over fanciness --
if someone wants to get fancy they can do so. Despite the fact it is an
*apparent* bug in the proxy server, we still have to live with AOL and
WebTV. Getting them to fix their problems is hard. They may even comply
with some little-known thing in the HTTP spec like "you don't have to
submit a cookie for cached URLs when they are a get" or something.
