[ic] Beginners question

When I telnet to my site and gzip | untar MV or IC do I do it in my www dir or my home dir and then run the ./configure program?

 

That is:

 

home/mysite

 - or -

home/mysite/www

 

thus my final file structure would be:

 

/home/mysite/interchange-4.5.7

  - or -

/home/mysite/www/interchange-4.5.7

 

then I run ./configure
