I think I figured this out. The same problems were reduplicated on
the newer machine (freshly built this morning).
There was a 700 meg session.db file. I /dev/null'd it,restarted
minivend and all badness seems to have gone away (so far)
also noticed faster performance.
Sorry for all these posts. I hope maybe they'd help someone in the future.
