[mv] [mv/ic] Please help, Install problem solaris...
****** message to minivend-users from Andy MyHR <amyhr@mn.mediaone.net> ******
Please, I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out.
I have a test server running linux with minivend 4.04. Everything
is fine there.
The problem is now that I'm trying to move it into production. I'm
on and ISPs Solaris 8 (with tons of ram and tons of processing, and I'm
currently the only user), with perl 5.6. I've tried every available
version of Minivend 4..00-4.04/Interchange 4.x-4.6, and every single one
of them hangs at the same point, whether I use ./configure or perl
Makefile.PL, make, make test. They all get to the point in make test
where test.pl is run, to the first test "server/unixmode........." and
just hang. That's it. For as long as I care to wait. No error message
or anything. top shows the process is sleeping. If I try to just
forget it and do a make install, when I try to start the server it just
hangs, and only responds to a kill.
I spent a the whole weekend researching the docs and mailing list.
Unless I missed something painfully obvious, I only found one other
message with the same problem, and no reply. If anyone has any idea how
to fix this, clue what it could possibly be, get around it, or even if
you've had the same problem, please respond.
I've spent so long figureing Minivend out, and supporting it as a
solution, I hate to get shoot down in the homestretch (not to mention
loose the contract).
Thank you in advance for any help...
