Where can I find a comprehensive list of all the checking available with the checkout_profile?

OK, if the checkout_profile won''t help me, then let me double check what my options are... (1) I will have to write a cgi to do this? OR (2) I will have to do a page refresh in order to run perl on the selected values? (undesirable since requires customer to always choose the "Refresh" button before clicking the "Accept" button) OR (3) do - yet another - page to confirm what the customer has checked? 

What I need to accomplish is making the customer check a "YES" (I agree to the terms) button before proceding with adding the item to the basket.

I am trying to avoid JavaScript  (too buggy between browsers, especially AOL) or page refresh (too confusing for customers).

I really LIKE the Needfield page approach which redirects the customer only if there is a problem.
