Hmmm...is your codes inside a loop or item-list?
See [if-loop....], [if-item....] etc.
Hmmm...I could not find the description about the "[sql-data...] tag.
Try
[seti dummy][sql-data products category2][/seti]
[if scratch dummy =~ /anything/]
<BLINK>something</BLINK>
[/if]
