Question about shipping
****** message to minivend-users from "Li, Dawn" <DLi@hq.row.com> ******
I have been trying to implement the shipping calculation into our
shopping cart built with Minivend. I read the documentation carefully
and checked the mail list archive but could not find out the reason.
Here is the file shipping.asc we have:
code description criteria min max formula
usps UPS Parcel Service price 0.50 6.00 0.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 6.00 12.00 2.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 12.00 25.00 4.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 25.00 50.00 6.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 50.00 100.00 8.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 100.00 200.00 12.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 200.00 300.00 25.00
usps UPS Parcel Service price 300.00 999999.00 f
@@TOTAL@@ * 0.09
However, the shipping costs always come up greater than prices on the
last column. The last row, the percentage goes up to 22%. What do you
think is the problem? Does it have to do with the pricebreaks. The
total it uses is the subtotal that disregards the discounted prices
implemented by pricebreaks? Or is this a bug?
Section on Shipping is pasted here for your convenience.
"usps
The next mode, usps, is a more complicated formula -- using price
as the criteria. If the total price of all items in the shopping cart
(same as [subtotal] without quantity price breaks in place) is from 1 to
50, the cost will be 7.00 plus 10% of the order. If the total is from
50.01 to 100, the cost will be 12.00 plus 9% of the order total. If the
cost is 100.01 or greater, then 5% of the order total will be used as
the shipping cost. "
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks,
Dawn
