Apache disabled by minivend? that sounds very unlikely...

With this message coming from root, maybe you ran the installation as user
root, thus the installation files are owned by root, and the user mvend
does not have permission to write to or create files?
Try to chown the whole mvend directory tree to mvend.
BTW: Doing everything on your system with root permissions is considered a
major security risk by many sysadmins. Do this only if you are sure never
to make any mistakes.
Try also to be a little bit more clear about the problem you have. Apache
disabled by minivend install is very unlikely to happen. It would actually
be quite impossible, if minivend would be installed by a special user mvend
or minivend.
"Having difficulty getting the Minivend demo to run.": What does that mean?
Does minivend run at all? Does the "logic" catalog run ok, but not the
demo? You do realise, that according to your minivend.cfg you do not start
any demo?
Pretty please consider that very few on this list are clairvoiant, if you
want support from this list, it might help if you took the time to describe
a little bit what you have tried and what the situation is.
