Ryan & Brian,
    The only problem with that SSI would be that when apache or a web server does an ssi,
it holds the page until the SSI has completed...  therefore, what you would want to do is
indeed do an SSI, however, write a simple perl script that would fork a process that
would run in the background on the server, without the user ever noticing.
