CommonAdjust Help Please

I need to provide a MixedMatch quanity discount for 'most but not all' items in my 
products.db. I am trying to figure out a scheme that will let me do this. Can 
MixMatch be applied to only specific databases? If so then I can make separate 
databases for these items. If not then using CommonAdjust is the way to go. 

Here is what I am trying but it doesn&#146;t seem to work:

CommonAdjust: ;products:price, pricing:q1,q2:key,

  (key is a column in the pricing database that marks 
the items that will get quanity discount.) My thinking 
is all if item is keyed then include in q1,q2 quanity 
pricing scheme. 

Maybe I am going about this wrong and should try doing 
this with MVdiscount tags?
