Yes, It would the combination of both! Granted that one with experience in databases and shopping carts will have a better understanding when it comes time to perform, I just think overall you will save your self some greef/confusion by 
bypassing NT. This is of course if when you go live you plan to be running linux. Thats my 2 cents =)
