Multiple databases from one catalog

I have a catalog that contains sub-searchs.  The user opens the page
and selects the campus they are taking classes at (the catalog is for
one school which has different and seperate campuses, each of whom
needs to have a different database of products.)  I created a page
for each school that contains a form for searching.  Each form
includes:

<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="mv_search_file" VALUE="rome.asc">

to point the search at the correct database.

(the rome.asc is replaced with the correct value relative to the
school on each form) 

in the "catalog.cfg" file i have a definition for :

DataBase        rome rome.asc 1
and a definition for each of the other .asc files (as they are
declared in the search file for each school.)

and in the ProductFiles settings I have:

ProductFiles carter haralson north heritage rome main additions software reviews clothing stock

I thought those were the settings I needed to have, and I thought
that this would allow me to search each of the databases exclusivly
and only poll results from the database pointed to by the search
form.  When I try to run a search for any of the databases except the
"carter" one (the first one in the ProductFiles declaration) i get
results from an other databases (carter.)  

Anyone have an ideas of the flag i missed or if this is an impossible
thing to do?
