	I would recommend, as a newbie, that you modify the simple demo.  Starting
from scratch is not advised.

	Yes.  Something to the effect of putting a conditional in the checkout
form, so that if [nitems] gt 100 then output an HTML dropdown with the
items, etc. etc.  Your problem is dealing with a customer who obtains their
free item and then empties their shopping cart.  I would search the mail
list for 'lobsters'.
