Ryan,
    Thats the weird thing... the [item-price] **IS** in
the [item-list] area...! Also, in the old MV simple catalog, look
in the basket.html page, Mike makes reference to [item-subtotal]... in
it.   Its almost like it does a [calc] behind the scenes somewhere. 
The main problem that I am having right now is basically, I can't
show any prices, therefore I can create subtotals, and totals... its
really weird.  I've never seen this one before!

    Any help would be appreciated.
