Re: new site launch - net-lets.com
Hi Tom,
I checked your site on my Windows machine using Netscape v3 and the selection
boxes are as you see them (black letters on white background).
The problem I described (black letters on blue background) occurs on my Linux
machine using Netscape v4.51 - the default that came with my RedHat 6.0
distribution.
If I use the KDE file manager (kfm) or StarOffice 5.1 to browse your site,
the selection boxes are rendered the same as in MS Windows (black on white) - so
the problem is with the way Netscape draws selection boxes under Linux when you
have NOT set an explicit background color in the table.
I, for one, cannot wait for more choices in browsers on Linux. My favorite
browser from my MS Windows days will be available to us Linux users "real soon
now" from Opera Software (http://www.opera.com) and then I will be happy to pay
a paltry $35 for it and delete Netscape from my hard drive.
Hope this helps clear up the confusion - isn't it just fun the hoops we have to
jump thru to accomodate various browsers and operating systems!
