[mv] Installation problem.

I am trying to install minivend on a FreeBSD 2.x with perl 5.004
installed. When attemping to run the configure script, I am receiving
the following error message. Do anyone have any idea what is happening?
[mvend (1)] options:~/minivend-3.14-5$ ./configure
./configure: 9: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string
