[mv] bin/check in MV4 is gone?

Hi all,

in MV3.x I had a ~/mvend/bin/check programm, to check if my mvend is running. I am missing this fine tool in MV4. I tried to 
copy the old check-one into the new mvend, but it doesnt work. Why has this programm gone?
