Re: [mv] Turkish caharacter problem

****** message to minivend-users from "Eran Binyamin Zeitoun" <eran_zeitoun@karmail.com> ******

Hi!
The problem is inside minivend source...., And also will badly occured when
you
will want to use MiniMate, since Minimate will also display on screen the
decoded
charcters....

You will have to look at the sources in lib\vend directory of minivend and
see
whenever one of them uses a call to Entities::decode or encode.
I think its about 3 files parse.pm parser.pm util.pm...

But If there will be future upgrade of 3.14 version you will have to do so
again...,
My advice is to handle the problem from the base..., Edit the Entities.pm
file
and change the way those functions act... so in next version upgrades (if
they will
exist) you can always use the modifed entities.pm file... since i barley
imaging
it will be changes...

BTW: You will have another problem while searching text... it might split
lines
(or mybe its happening only in hebrew...) but i have the fix for that too...

I Hope mike will read this e-mail, Becouse i belive he had a reason to use
those
functions, but I suppose he can make in future versions of minivend and
option
to handle a multi-language support and allow by catalog.cfg disabling those.

HTA,
Eran Binyamin Zeitoun.

Subject: [mv] Turkish caharacter problem

Hello,

I wrote my problem several times to the list but there was no answer that
could solve my problem.

I am trying to construct a shoping mall with minivend but I have problems
with Trukish characters. I am sure that other non English users have the
same problem.

In the attached picture, I explained what the problem I have.

minivend replaces Turkish characters by %fx where x is a digit. For example
there is a character like "g" but a head over "g". Minivend replaces this
character by %f0. I couldn't find the code where the replacemt occurs.

I know little about perl. I think that I have to change some code where the
search string is checked for nonword (according to English) characters. But
I couldn't find where it is.

Please could anyone help me. Thanks
