[mv] Defining Database Fields
****** message to minivend-users from John Carroll <jjc@groveton.com> ******
For the past couple of months I've been playing with MiniVend 3.14, and
slowly have made some progress getting pages to look the way I want, by
modifying the "simple" store. The various functions -- browse, search,
etc. work as expected. But now I've hit a brick wall. The problem is
that I want different database fields than the default ones that come with
the "simple" store in "products.asc". For example, I'd prefer to use
"designer" instead of "artist," and will no doubt need to make other
changes. I tried just changing the fields and that didn't work. My
reading of the documentation leads me to believe that I can define a field
with a new directive, but despite going through the minivend.html document
several times it's not clear to me what such a directive would look like
or where I should put it. Obviously the various fields are defined
somewhere besides in products.asc, but I haven't found where. If someone
could point me in the right direction it would be a big help.
Thanks.
John Carroll
