It sounds like you might be making the userdb.txt unusable by your
editing. Tab separated databases should have the format below, with a tab
(I used -> to show these, don't put in "->") between each field/column and
a return at the end of each record/row:

name0  -> name1  -> name2  -> ...
field0 -> field1 -> field2 -> ...
field0 -> field1 -> field2 -> ...

You might want to use a spreadsheet or database to edit your DBs and then
export to ASCII.
