[Camps-users] Extending Service Functionality

I am looking at the possibility of bringing other services into camps such as sphinx and dancer.  When I look at extending this type of thing it seems I would need to append Master.pm.  This isn't really what I would like to do for version control as this would get rewritten in future updates.  Is there a way, or should I say what is the best way to add service functionality for new programs outside of db,http,ic? If not how have others done this type of thing?
