The default setup in low-traffic mode is not optimized at all.

Quite frankly, your biggest performance wins will be:

    1. Put left-hand category list in timed-build mode.
    2. Move to PreFork mode.

That should give you a 5-15x improvement in pages per second, i.e.
8-20 per second.
