[ic] Replication/load balancing

I am starting the process of looking at the best way to put together a
redundant load balanced IC implementation, and before I really start
digging thought I would ask this first.

What parts of the IC catalog directory, the pages, config files,
templates, etc.., could not be stored and accessed entirely from a
database?  Not that a few areas wouldn't require a bit of work, like the
session implementation, but is the design there to do this or would a lot
of code have to be hacked?  I am thinking of this in terms of putting
together a master/slave(s) design using postgresql or oracle as the
database.
