Are you testing with IE 5.0?????  It has bugs handling certificates.....Do 
some searching on the Internet.  There are workarounds but the best (most 
secure) solution is to require v5.5 or Netscape....

Also, are you behind Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0.  This can also give you 
some grief.

Let me clarify a bit more, sorry....

When you go to checkout after an item is placed in the cart, it gives page
not foun errors.  You do not get these errors when you go to the cart when
it is empty.

I'm using 4.6.5
