You don't mention your version -- my guess is it is the latest 4.7.5 and
this is trouble with the new dynamic variables. The table gets read from
before we can flag it write.

We will fix this soon -- for now, if you comment out the line in
templates/*/theme.cfg which says "Pragma dynamic_variables" this
should be OK.
