Looks like you want to use 2 different domains (one secure
the other non-secure) and expect EVERYTHING to work.

After seeing many threads in the past 2 years on this subject
(I've been on this list that long?  :-/ )
as well as some customization to an old MV 3.14 to get it
to do just this type of thing, I have a much better
understanding of the technical difficulties as well as the
security / perceived-security of sites set up to do this
sort of thing. Not to mention being in violation of some
certificate authorities rules/regs (or so I've heard).

My best fix: $100 certificate.  (Your time will be far better
spent working on other problems)
