This seems like a regular occurence. I, too, see this a lot. Look at the
path to your broken image. Probably looks somthing like
www.yourdomain.com/YOUR_NAME/interchange/en_US/image.gif.
                   ^^^^^^^^^^
You don't want to see that for most installs, just need
'www.yourdomain.com/interchange/etc,etc'

Check variable.txt for:
UI_IMAGES and UI_IMAGES_SECURE (something like that). For Foundation you
should probably see

/interchange/

as your variable. Also check your ownership and permissions. And check the
mail archives here:

developer.akopia.com

Also check your makecat.cfg and make the change, probably Share URL should
be /interchange/
