It sounds like you have two-way replication going (if I understood you 
correctly).  But I didn't think the was possible, because according to 
http://www.mysql.com/doc/R/e/Replication_Features.html two-way replication 
isn't supported:

MySQL only supports one master and many slaves. In 4.x, we will add a 
voting algorithm to automatically change master if something goes wrong 
with the current master. We will also introduce 'agent' processes to help 
do load balancing by sending select queries to different slaves.
