I see nothing odd in either the interchange error log or the catalog's
error log. I do see a few mod_ssl errors in my httpd error log, but none
at the time you were testing (9:17 .. is that correct?)

Could this be a result of my installing 4.8.5 over an earlier 4.8
version? Should I try a clean install of 4.8.5 ?

I apppreciate everyone's help.... my site is ready for launch but I
can't do it until I figure this out. Here are soem of the mod_ssl errors
from my apache log:

-------
[Wed Aug 7 09:04:05 2002] [error] mod_ssl: SSL handshake interrupted by
system [Hint: Stop button pressed in browser?!] (System error follow$
[Wed Aug 7 09:04:05 2002] [error] System: Connection reset by peer
(errno: 104)

and one further up....

[Wed Aug 7 00:43:54 2002] [error] mod_ssl: SSL handshake failed (server
M-AND-D.COM:443, client 194.29.199.195) (OpenSSL library error follows)

[Wed Aug 7 00:43:54 2002] [error] OpenSSL: error:14094415:SSL
routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert certificate expired

but my SSL certificate is not expired ??
