It would be helpful if you could provide detailed information, such as:

  * Environment (OS version, perl version, IC version, etc., etc.)
  * Hosting type (colocated, virtual server, etc.)
  * Error logs (both global and catalog)
  * Any system interaction that my be related (memory limits, cron jobs, 
disk space, etc.)

I think you'll find that Interchange itself is very stable on the whole, 
but will go down sometimes "due to circumstances beyond its control".  :-)
