Did you install Interchange into /home/httpd/interchange and then
move it elsewhere?  Makecat seems to think that that's where your
Interchange installation is based.

If you moved the directory then the Interchange daemon wouldn't have
started either.  Can you check whether it's running.

If only makecat is affected then you should be able to use this as
a workaround:

    bin/makecat --vendroot=/path/to/interchange/install/dir

I can't imagine why only makecat would be affected by something
like this.
