Actually, it sounds as if he may be using PGP for
Windows.

If that is the case, you need to copy both pubring.pgp
and secring.pgp files, buried somewhere in /Program
Files/Network Associates/PGP/.  Incidentally, I've had
no problem moving keypairs between machines using PGP
(windows) 6.5.3.

Worst case you can create new keypairs.
