[ic] RE: Solution to the Shipping Charges Not Showing Up

When a user was not logged in, shipping charges were not showing up. There
is a fix posted online at a Interchange support forum:

<SELECT NAME=mv_shipmode>
[loop option=mv_shipmode
list=|[data table=country key='[default country US]' col=shipmodes]|
]
<OPTION VALUE="[loop-code]"> [shipping-desc [loop-code]]
[/loop]
</SELECT>

Add this code to the checkout.html and it should work properly. Hope this
helps anyone else that encounters this problem and thanks to everyone who
offered their advice.

I have scrounged around for documentation on $Tag->time($locale, $ATTRHASH,
$BODY), but can not find
how to pass an "adjust" (equivalent to [time adjust=n]FormatSting[/time].
Taking a guess by looking at $Tag->time( '', { format => '%Y' }, '%Y' ) used
in the credit card
expiry year dropdown and trying $Tag->time( '', { adjust => '$x' }, '%A, %B
%d, %Y' ) does not
appear to work.

How would I get this to work?
(using [time][/time] inside a perl block does not appear to work eighter).

Thanks,

A variable inside single quotes will not be evaluated. Your call looks
correct otherwise.

Looking through the code of login.html

The form call [process secure=1] along with the various form mv_

Where is the code the [process] calls.

Thanks,

Thank you, Michael, but it doesn't work properly. The right sku is not shown
in the shopping cart. There is one item in the table product e.g. with the
sku 7201911. In the table options are two "items". One with the same sku as
the item in product table (price 8.80), the second with the sku 7201912
(price 30.0). When I choose the second option, it will be shown in the
shopping cart, but with the sku of the item in the product list.
http://shop.jsl.at/cgi-bin/rico/7201911.html  ('Kaufen' in German means
'buy' and 'Warenkorb' Shopping Cart.)

The shopping cart shows the sku from the product table and not the in the
option form filled in sku of the option.

Thanks in advance for further help!
Joe

Ed,

I am trying to follow the code in login.html, but am getting lost at the
form that calls [process secure=1]

Where is the code for process? - This must be where the cookie is set?

Hi Josef,

I have been just working with a similar setup where the store sells
clothing.
Each item of clothing required both version and size options.

To do this I used matrix options, separate widgets. Under the options
section
for a product i created a version option specifying (for this particular
product) 3 versions: green, grey or red, and a size option specifying 4
options XL, L, M, S.

After that was set up if you click 'generate all options' it generates 12
variations of the initial product, and assigns them an individual sku. These
were of the form:

<initial product sku>-<version code>-<size code>
e.g. 00808-Green-XL, 00808-Grey-S

When the items have been added to the cart, the sku of each item in the cart
(retrieved through [item-code]) was the code assigned to the options
according to the product sku & the combination of options selected for that
product. (e.g. if you selected product sku 00808 and then chose version Grey
and size L then the [item-code] of the item in the cart was 00808-Grey-L).
Also, i think by default the price that is used, is the price that has been
assigned to the sku for that combination of options.

So in summary, if you are wanting size and material options for each
product,
i suggest you follow the same process as outlined above. After you have
generated the material and size options for you product, choose 'generate
all
options' and that should generate (number of material option choices *
number
of size option choices) options, each with an sku along the template of
<initial product sku>-<material code>-<size code>.

I hope this makes sense and is the information you are after. If not, or if
you have any further questions on the area feel free to ask & i'll do by
best
to answer them :).

It is in the guts of Interchange. The [process] form action tells
interchange to process the posted form vars according to the action set
with mv_todo. The processing is not associated with any specific target
page (though a page to display when processing is complete can be specified
with mv_nextpage), so Interchange just builds a target URL that ends in an
'imaginary' page called 'process.html'. There are other ways to handle a
form post; more info is here:

I think I just answered a separate post of yours on this list that was a
rephrasing of this question.

The actual code that sets the cookie is in VENDROOT/lib/Vend/UserDB.pm.
Grep or search that module for 'cookie' and you will find the subroutine. I
believe it's execution is triggered by a login being called with the value
mv_cookie_password being true (yes/1), which is of course the condition
which occurs then 'Automatic Login' is checked on the login form.

Well - I guess I will have to diable CookieLogin for now, and come back to
it later. All other shopping cart functions are working flawlessly when
going to the secure server and checkout.

in UserDB.pm there are several tests like so:

if ($Vend::Cfg->{CookieLogin} and
(!$Vend::Cfg->{DifferentSecure} || ! $CGI::secure)
)

when testing for cookies on a secure server. I haven't been able to track
them all down yet.

If I set SECURE_SERVER to http instead of https it works as expected I
guess, at least I receive a prompt telling me it is storing the MV_USERNAME,
and MV_PASSWORD on my pc - I assume this is when IC calls the set_cookie
rountines in Util.pm

Thanks for the suggestions though....

Hello all,

I'm stuck at the moment ... my customized web store is now operational
except for
the shipping section of checkout. Although I've made certain that I have a
default country and zip, there is no shipping method in the pull down. And
I'm
guessing it's due to the "Note: Nothing to ship!" but the cart has at least
one
item.

Also, can anyone give me a clue what to change because I would like to use
mail
instead of sendmail to send e-mails. I think because of the measures I've
made
on sendmail, no regular user can send out so only mail (binary) can be used.
And
while we're talking about e-mails, does anyone have a sample of mailing
receipts?

Thanks. :-)

This is the error message I receive when I try to connect to the server. A

I cannot install Interchange as my Interchange user. I install as root and

Thanks Mike;
Actually, I tried it without quotes too and it did work but in my haste I
used $x instead of $y.
Of course. $x did not advance the date (quotes or no quotes :)), making me
think it wasn't working.

# now build an array of dates

for ($x=0; $x <= $days_net; $x++){

$y = $x*24;

$date_slice = $Tag->time( '', { adjust => $y }, '%A, %B %d, %Y' );

push (@dates, $date_slice);

}

sheepishly,
Bruno Cantieni
