Actually I didn't miss the point... I was just proposing a way to convince
clients to login... Which we do on our personal sites. Our clients are a mixture
of both.

Personally the merchant doesn't need any more protection than a simple phone
call to confirm the order with the card holder.

If any part of the avs fails, you simply call the customer. Then if you can't
confirm the order, you don't ship it.

The merchant doesn't need any protection, since simply put THEY STILL HAVE THEIR
PRODUCT! If the order looks like fraud, then DON'T SHIP IT, until you confirm
it.

That is simply common sence.
