while this may or may not be a factor in the tech business (webhosting), in
other businesses, when a company is lettting it's product/inventory (boxes
acting in a server capacity are inventory) go at bargain basement prices, it
usually means they are headed for bankruptcy - all things cost money, from
tech people to bandwidth to boxes, etc. there is no free lunch, none.

While they may be charging 10/month now, will they be here a year from now?
it's doubtful, highly. There was a story in the WSJ some months back
explaining why the big back bone companies were hurting -

they were hurting, apparently, because they had offered free service for
between 1 and 2 years to large dot coms (no known as dot bombs) on multi year
contracts - in turn these dot coms turned around and offered free or nearly
free hosting services to their customers to garner clients - who refused to
pay and went else where when the now dot bombs had to start charging because
the free ride was over - when they could generate no cash flow to pay bills,
they had to shut down and thus the back bone suppliers were stiffed. I wonder
how many sites went down with them????

Lesson - it pays to spend money in prudent areas, one is your provider, the
other is who ever is providing your security for your store.
