Yes

Forgive my ignorance but I do not know what rpc mode is. Couldn't find
reference to this in the docs either.
It is a tar ball install and server is running in Low Traffic Mode as it is
not all that busy.

Error message is usually:  'PGP failed with status 4294967040: No child
processes'
This occurs even when there is little load on the server. However, it does
not fail all of the time.
The order is always received albeit not always with encrypted card details.
Just first 2 and last 4 digits unencrypted. We are actually using GnuPG if
that makes any difference.

No! The order is always sent as far as I know.....
