[ic] Help - Search new table from within search results

Unfortunately in all my searching through forums and documentation I haven't been able to suss out this particular problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I have created a new table (called "glossary") and configured a search form for that table. It uses a unique results page, called "glossary_results.html". 

What I would like to do is invoke a search on the products table from the glossary search results. In other words, using foundation store as an example, if the search result for glossary is "hammer", clicking on "hammer" will bring up all of the records in products that contain that word (obviously in results.html). 

Here's a snippet from glossary_results.html:

<td align="left"><a href="[area href="scan" fi=products st=db co=yes sf=comment"]">[my-data glossary word]</a></td> 
<td align="left">[my-data glossary word]</td>--> 
<td align="left">[my-data glossary definition]</td>

Obviously my <a href> tag isn't going to work. It brings up all records from the products database. How do I get the link to invoke a search based on the result returned by [my-data glossary word]?
