Ok. I'm going to run through the install and list the things that come up. Hopefully
someone can tell me where I am going wrong.

I run ./configure

	"Your Interchange main software installation appears to have been successful.
	 You do not appear to have all the required modules install. You are missing:

		SQL::Statement
		Safe::Hole
		Storable
		URI::URL"

I prompt it to "Get Bundle::Interchange"

I am prompted about lwp-request, headers, and some dependencies. I say 'yes' to all.

I am prompted to "Enter arithmetic or Perl expression:" the default is "exit". I press
enter.

I am prompted to prepend more dependencies. I select the default "yes".

Script finishes running and says "You are now ready to cd to MYDIR and run
'bin/makecat' to set up your first catalog"

Some of the script notes seem to be cause for concern:

	It appears that it is attempting to untar Parse-RecDescent-1.94.tar.gz and fails.

I cd to the new directory and run bin/makecat
and enter the default values supplied

	"warning: locate: could not open database: /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db:
	Permission denied"
	"warning: You need to run the 'updatedb' command (as root) to create the
		database."

I am prompted for the path to httpd.conf, I am not sure so I leave it blank.

For a good while I am prompted for various values, and return the default suggested.

	"Do you use CGIWRAP or SUEXEC?"

I enter no

	"./configure: ./configure: No such file or directory
	Couldn't run configure; probably no C compiler.
		Couldn't find the executable file 'vlink'.

		Please give the complete path to the link program.

	warning: locate: could not open database: /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db:
Permission 	denied
	warning: You need to run the 'updatedb' command (as root) to create the
		database."

I am prompted to enter "Link Program". I have no idea what this is, so I leave it blank
and press enter.

I enter a few more default values.

	"Found system commands to run.

	 Couldn't copy link program from : No such file or directory"

The program then dumps me out to a command prompt.

If this is already covered somewhere, please point me to it. The "Getting Started" docs
just said, type "./configure" and "bin/makecat". Unfortunately that doesn't seem to cover
some of the required details.

Any help / suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Justin Pease
