Subject: [ic] Upgrade 4.7.3?

We are running a dozen or so production Interchange stores quite comfortably
using version 4.7.3

We would, however, like to begin rolling out some new sites that take
advantage of some of the more current Interchange backend features etc.

Couple of questions:

1. Given that we need these sites to run on the same server, RedHat 7.3, 1
gig RAM, using mod_interchange, would it be advisable to:

Upgrade Interchange

or

Run two IC daemons?

or

Hold out a little longer for an upcoming release?

2. Which version of Interchange would be most suitable for a production
server.

3. Is there much involved in upgrading stock 4.7.3 stores to the upgraded
version or should they almost run out of the box?

My experience....

Run two daemons. Customers rarely pay for upgrades or the extended time to
upgrade Interchange versions. Some upgrades have caused numerous hours
changing configs and stuff.

"if it aint broke, why fix it". We run 3 versions if Interchange for various
customers, depending on what they paid for and when they joined our services
or we designed their site.

But for the caffeine induced, you can continue to upgrade existing installs.
