[ic] New Server for IC... Should I use WebHost Manager?

I'm going to be starting completely from scratch on a new server mainly
for hosting my Interchange sites. On my current server I've been using
WebHost Manager and Cpanel and although these are really annoying having
the web interface is helpful. The main drawback is probably how they
install things from RPMs, keep files in weird places and mess with my
httpd.conf in ways I'd rather they didn't sometimes. Does anyone have
advice for alternatives? It seems that the best thing would be a program
which allowed me to do some administration of user accounts such as setting
bandwidth and other things like adding SSL certs, etc. and gave warnings
when I should update certain modules.
Or should I just bite the bullet and do it all myself? This is probably
what I'll do unless people suggest otherwise.
By the way, I'm planning on installing RedHat 9 and installing a separate
perl for Interchange.

Thanks,
Bryan
