Well guys,
I did it. withall your help, tom brian, and a couple of others I have missed 
your name
I was able to get my server to work.
I went and reran bin/makecat, and this time instead of using UNIX, I 
switched over to INET, and opened a port that it asked for on my router.
This is the first time I ever used this option.
Of course I am on the lan with the server, so I won't know it will still 
work, when I get home, but for now, I can select products and checkout, 
although it is ladders and brushes.
I don't get We're sorry, the Interchange server is unavailable  anymore.
