[ic] matrix options fail to generate all combinations

I am having trouble witrh the matrix options in 5.2. I generate a new
item, save it, then go to create the options for it. This item has two
options, size an material. Both size and material affect the price.

So I create both options with the details and the price variants. When I
press the "Generate all combinations" button, nothing happens. The
error.log shows a database error based on a null value for sku on a not
null field. The setup for the options shows that a number will be
generated if left blank.

Error line starts below:

sesewing /cgi-bin/sesewing/admin/item_option_old.html Safe: DBD::Pg::st
execute failed: ERROR: ExecInsert: Fail to add null value in not null
attribute sku at /usr/lib/interchange/lib/Vend/Table/DBI.pm line 1386.

The it lists the debugging output that shows the backend perl code.

If I create a simple type option, it works just fine. It still fails
regardless of price variants being included.

What is a good starting point to get this working?
