try [value-extended name=mv_searchspec index=0]
More info would be nice to help you debug your problem. but in any
condition, are you sure you have a value in the "mv_searchspec"?

if you are using it in a loop to display your results
ie
se=[value-extended ...]
make sure you do not use the quotes
