[ic] Secure server cart issues

I have a site configure to go to 
http://www.domain1.com/cgi-bin/cartname

when they run a transaction (click on checkout) ic is setup to move them
to 
https://secure.domain2.com/cgi-bin/cartname 

while it is differnt domain names both are on the same bsd box (1 server) 

After moving to the secure link, it drops the cart and they have no items
to purchase.

I think this is a cookie issue, but I am not sure.

Can someone help please,
